Doodlebug Facepainting – Terms of Business (Small Event / Party)

Booking & Payment

When you book your party or event with Doodlebug Facepainting, you’ll receive a confirmation email or message with full details of the services for your event.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days before your event. A payment reminder will be issued as standard.

Payments can be made via the link provided at the time of booking, or by bank transfer (by prior agreement).

By confirming your booking details and making payment, you agree to the Terms and Conditions outlined in this document.

Service Information

Face Painting Materials

We use only professional-quality face paints that are fully compliant with UK/EU regulations and designed specifically for use on skin.

Please remove face paint with mild soap or face wash and water — avoid wet wipes, as these can sometimes cause irritation or staining. Guests (or the guardians of children being painted) will be given a removal instruction card.

Some skin types may be more prone to staining; if this occurs, mild baby shampoo or micellar water will usually remove it gently.

During the event:

Fresh water is used and changed regularly.
A clean sponge is used for each face.
Brushes are cleaned using an industry-standard three-step process during events.
All equipment is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised after each booking.

When We Cannot Paint

For your safety, we may decline to paint in the following circumstances:

Apparent skin diseases or disorders
Open cuts, flaking skin, or any infectious conditions (e.g. conjunctivitis, cold sores, impetigo, severe acne, flu, chicken pox)
Children under 3 years old
Children (or adults) who do not wish to be painted

If you believe a guest has sensitive skin or allergies, please inform us in advance so we can carry out a patch test. This is the guardian/host’s responsibility, and we cannot be held liable for allergic reactions to our products.

We reserve the right, without prejudice, to decline painting any person we feel should not be painted.

Terms & Conditions

Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times.
Guests should not touch our equipment or products.
Please provide one table per face painter (plus one for glitter services, if booked).
Ensure there is enough space for us to set up our chairs and kit, and for both artists and guests to move safely without obstruction and at appropriate distance.
If we are working outdoors, suitable shelter from the elements must be provided (or discussed in advance).
If a parking permit is required, please arrange this before our arrival.
For a 2-hour booking, we work continuously without breaks. For longer events, short comfort breaks may be needed (painting area will remain manned).

If more guests than expected require painting or extra time is needed, please let us know upon arrival. We may be able to extend the booking (subject to availability) and additional charges will apply in line with agreed rates.

Once we have finished and packed away, we cannot accommodate latecomers.

If we are unable to attend due to circumstances beyond our control, we will arrange a replacement artist in the first instance or refund your payment in full.

We cannot refund due to event cancellation or unsuitable conditions (e.g. bad weather / unsafe spaces), so please consider covered venues or a contingency plan.

Doodlebug Facepainting is not liable for loss, damage, costs, or expenses unless caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made in writing (email, Facebook Messenger, or WhatsApp) at least 7 days before your event.
Deposits are non-refundable, as they secure the date and we may have turned away other work.
If less than 7 days’ notice is given and the event is not rescheduled, the full fee will be retained.
If appropriate conditions (as set out above) are not met and we cannot work safely, we reserve the right to cancel and retain the fee.
